Let's have a discussion

Are we human beings "higher" than animals?

I'm not talking about in the food chain, just in the sense that we are "above" them.

Discuss.

I'll start off by saying that I don't believe we are; we're the only species that wakes up every day either wondering if we're going to get killed or be killed by our own kind, or whether we're going to be backstabbed or betrayed. We're the only species that would eradicate another or put the world on the brink of destruction - because we can.

Personally I'm not overly proud of being human...

Just because we think about it doesn't mean we're any worse than the other beasts that actually do engage in the act.

Personally (or at least, at this point), I think all life is by nature chaotic, and thinking on an 'All Evil Must Be Destroyed' perspective, everything should be annihilated.

However, that being unlikely, we just have to do what we can in spite (or rather because of our faults).
